The final pits five times champions Riviere and Chisholm against the team they beat in the 2022 (Bordeaux) and 2024 (Chicago) finals. Lumley and Virgona will, however, take heart from their most recent meeting where they took the US Open Title in a three sets to one victory earlier this year in Chicago. The first time Riviere and Chisholm had lost that title in thirteen years.

Whatever the result the match will end with records broken. A win for Riviere and Chisholm will see them equal the record of six consecutive world doubles titles held by Steve Virgona with Rob Fahey. It will also make Tim Chisholm the most successful individual World Doubles player with seven titles. Whereas a win for Lumley and Virgona will hand Steve Virgona his seventh title.

Set 1

A speedy first set with Lumley and Virgona racing to a 5-0 lead. With Riviere and Chisholm receiving Rivirere hit four consecutive balls into the net conceding the game and the set but taking advantage changing the server pairings. In set 2 Lumley will serve to Chisholm. 0-1

Set 2

The tactic paid off immediately for Riviere and Chisholm taking the set 6-2. but with Lumley and Virgona at the Hazard end for the start of the new set the service pairs have switched again. Lumle receiving from Riviere. 1-1

Set 3

That set did not go the way Lumley and Virgona would have hoped. Errors from both sides but but Chisholm is getting into the game and with Riviere who is beginning to dominate they took the set 6-2. 2-1

Set 4

And another momentum swing in the 4th set with Lumley and Virgona finding the form of the first and another 6-0 victory leaving the match evenly poised at 2-2 setting up an exciting final day after the overnight break.

Day 2

Set 5

Lumley elected to serve at the start of the set and Chisholm elected to receive. This is the order that Riviere and Chishol preferred yesterday and so it proved today. And so it proved again at 5-0 to Riviere and Chisholm land ike yesterday's' opener Lumley and Virgona chose to throw the last game in order to stay at the Hazard end and retain the choice of server pairings for the coming set. This led to the surreal spectacle of Riviere playing along by serving a string of double faults. After the fun the game and set went to Riviere and Chisholm and Lumley and Vigona the choice of receivers Virgona will be serving to Chisholm in the next set. 3-2

Set 6

And so the pendulum swings. With the pairings in their favour once more Lumley and Virgona raced to a 0-4 lead in the set before a revival from Riviere and Chisholm brought it back to 3-4. But Lumley and Virgona finished the set off 3-6. The most significant factor may be that they did so from the Hazard end and retain the server pairing choice going into the seventh. 3-3

Set 7

The first close set and it goes to the defending champions 6-3. Against the now established orthodoxy of the server pairings for this match. And they won from the Hazard to Riviere and Chisholm haetken the opportunity to swap. Lumley serving to Chisholm. 4-3

Set 8

A set Lumley and Virgona must win and a set that was every bit as close as the last but it falls to Riviere and Chisholm 6-4
Congratulations to the champions Camden Riviere and Tim Chisholm. A result that makes Tim the most successful Doubles player with seven world titles.
