Field Trophy Final

The Field Trophy final was a local affair on Saturday with Oxford taking on Oxfordshire rivals Radley for the honours. The Match looked to be a one sided affair at the start with Oxford taking the first two rubbers and then the third as a walkover following a withdrawal due to illness of a Radley player. The match was therefore decided for Oxford before lunch.

However Radley were not going to go down quietly and with a seventeen year old in their second doubles pairing and a fifteen year old playing the number two singles they fought hard to win the remaining rubbers pulling the match score back to a respectable 3-2. While Oxford took the day the future looks bright for Radley with the Pol Roger league awaiting both teams next season.
