National League Div 5 at Newmarket

Unfortunately injury prevented Newmarket from fielding a full team for this tie and they were forced to concede a rubber. So only Vaughan Hamilton and Nick Jury were required to make the trip to Suffolk.

In the first rubber Nick lost 6-3, 6-2 to Ed Turner leaving the match in the balance and Vaughan with everything to do. After a close faught first set which Vaughan took 6-4 from Tom Marriot the match still looked to be finely poised but Vaughan was able to wrap the second set up more easily winning 6-1 taking the rubber and the tie for Moreton Morrell.
