Nat. League Div 8 at Leamington

Moreton struggled throughout this tie in all three matches played at Leamington. Keith Beechener started things off and set the tone by losing the first set to Henry Bryan by a margin. With a 5-3 lead in the second set it looked like Moreton would level the match but Bryan dug deep and took the set 6-5.

Richard Seymour-Mead was a late replacement for Moreton and virtually stepped off a plane and onto the court with little time for acclimatisation after a holiday. His opponent Alan Morrissey was quite ruthless and took a straight sets victory.

Jonny Miller in familiar fashion conceded the first set and then found his form in the second. Sadly it wasn't enough to overcome a strong performance by Simon Gill and a third straight sets win for Leamington.

Despite losing all six sets Moreton had battled hard for well over 3 hours with most games going to deuce. We are now halfway through the League season with two wins from four matches and will probably settle in mid-table until our matches resume in the new year.
